AF3D V3.8.0

AutoFarm3D V3.8.0 - Bambu Lab Compatibility, Streamlined Settings, and New Features!

Release date: Nov. 17, 2023

We're proud to announce the release of AutoFarm3D V3.8.0, which introduces a suite of new features and improvements designed to enhance your 3D printing farm's efficiency and user experience. This update focuses on adding compatibility with popular Bambu Lab printers, revamping the Settings page, and providing a more intuitive interface with guided tutorials.

Here's what's new in V3.8.0!

3.8.0 Release Notes

1. Bambu Lab Compatibility (Early Access)

Bambu Lab printers are now compatible with AutoFarm3D! Enjoy early access to seamless integration with the X1C, P1P, and P1S models. Now you can connect all your Bambu Lab printers together and control them efficiently in bulk through the AutoFarm3D dashboard! Big thanks to all of our helpful Beta Testers who helped us reach this point!

Early Access: As this is our first official release with Bambu Lab printer compatibility, there are some AutoFarm3D features currently missing for Bambu Lab printers such as timelapses, filament runout warnings, and webcam live feeds, however these will be added as soon as possible. Also please note auto-ejection is not currently supported for Bambu Lab printers, so you'll need to manually remove prints for the time being.

Compatible Printer Models:

  • X1C, P1P, and P1S printer models are supported.
  • X1E and A1 Mini printers are currently not supported, however we will be starting betas for those printers as demand increases.

Bambu Lab Compatibility

Now you can manage all your Bambu Lab printers in one place rather than having to manage them one-by-one!

2. Revamped Settings Page

We’ve reimagined the Settings page with your convenience in mind, introducing a Network map that displays all devices in your farm. Now, you can see all connected printers and USB devices at a glance, manage them more efficiently, and troubleshoot with ease.

Settings Page

2.1 Network Map

Visualize your entire print farm network in one place. The Network Map helps you navigate across all hubs on your farm giving you a bird's-eye view of your setup.

3. Start Next Print from Sidebar

For printers that require manual print removal, you can now start the next print directly from the sidebar, eliminating the need to navigate through printer settings. This small yet impactful change saves time and reduces clicks.

4. Guided Tutorials & Walkthroughs

New to AutoFarm3D or need a refresher? Our newly added guided tutorials and walkthroughs provide step-by-step instructions to help you make the most of the platform’s features.

5. Reworked Suspend Functionality

We've changed how the "Suspend" feature works.

  • Previously: Printer finishes all prints assigned to it, then suspends.
  • Current: Printer finishes current print, then suspends. Any assigned print jobs will be reassigned to other printers in the farm, or added to the "Blocked" section of the queue if no compatible printers are found.

6. Bug Fixes

  • Metrics Page Sync: We've resolved the synchronization issues on the Metrics page, ensuring that your data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Long File Names: Long gcode file names on the Files page now display properly across various web browsers and screen sizes.

7. Known issues

  • Removing Bambu Printers: Currently removing networked printers from AutoFarm3D can only be done while printers are offline. This will be fixed in the next update.
  • Limit of 10 Bambu Lab printers per hub: Please limit the number of Bambu Lab printers to 10 per hub (Rock64 or RPi with at least 2GB of RAM). Connecting more than 10 will risk the hub to run out of RAM resulting in system instability. In the next update there will be a built-in limit with a warning to prevent accidentally overloading your hubs.
  • Occasional P1P/P1S Desync: Occasionally, P1P and P1S printers will disconnect from AutoFarm3D preventing jobs from being sent to them. This shouldn't happen often, but if it does, you'll need to disconnect and reconnect your printer to your WiFi. Ask 3DQue support for help if needed. This issue will be addressed in the next update.
  • Bambu Studio: Connecting to your P1P or P1S printer through Bambu Studio will disconnect it from AutoFarm3D, and vice-versa. For best results, send prints to your printers through the AutoFarm3D dashboard rather than through Bambu Studio.
  • Limited 3mf File Compatibility: You must use "Export plate sliced file" in Bambu Studio when adding gcode to AutoFarm3D. Uploading a 3mf file with multiple plates pre-sliced is not currently supported.
