Printer Not Showing Up

If your printers aren't showing up on the dashboard, follow this guide!

1. Bambu Lab Printers

If your Bambu Lab printer is not showing up on your AutoFarm3D dashboard, please check the following:

1.1 Serial Number

Double check that the serial number in AutoFarm3D matches the one on your printer's LCD exactly. If it is wrong, AutoFarm3D cannot communicate with the printer.

Ensure you are not using the truncated serial number from Bambu Studio. You can find the full serial number on the LCD under Settings > Device > Printer. The full number should look like 01PXXXXXXXXXXXX.

1.2 Printer SD Card

Make sure the printer has a working SD card.

Stock Bambu cards wear out quickly; if you have had the printer for 6 months, we recommend swapping in a high-quality one to ensure stability for continuous printing.

1.3 Hub SD Card

If the SD card was previously used, it may contain residual data. Check that the SD card was formatted using SDCard.org and that you used the "Overwrite Format" option (NOT Quick Format).

1.4 Printer Settings

If you updated the firmware, printer settings can change.

Printer Mode Please check that LAN Only and DEV MODE are still enabled.

Access Code & Printer ID The Access Code and Printer ID are case sensitive, and the Access Code can change after updating your printer. If it has changed, please reset it one more time from the LCD. This will create a static access code.

1.5 Network Checks

Ensure the printer and hub are on the same network & subnet.

In AutoFarm3D, go to Settings → Printers and Cameras. If you don’t see the printer, it means the hub and printer may not be on the same network or subnet.

Both the hub and the printer should have the same URL except for the last 3 numbers (E.g. Hub 192.168.2.xxx, Printer 192.168.2.yyy). If both are on 192.168, they are on the same network. If they are both on 2, they are on the same subnet.

Corporate/shared networks: Some networks block device discovery. If this is the case, contact us directly and we will have our network specialist work with you or your IT department.

1.6 AF3D Version

If you are on an old version of AutoFarm3D, you may encounter issues when tryint to connect a Bambu Lab printer. To ensure you are on most up-to-date version of AF3D, please follow this guide.

Please check that ALL HUBS are on the same version. How to check hub versions.

1.7 Contact Support and Send Logs

If your printer's serial number is correct and all your hubs are up-to-date, please create a support ticket so that our team can dig deeper. To do this, please follow this guide.

2. Non-Bambu Printers

2.1 Check if your printer is detected by the Pi / Hub

  • Go to <IP>:3030 the software center of the Hub that your printer is plugged into.
    • E.g. 192.168.1.123:3030
    • If you don't know the IP of your hub, you can find it by following these steps.
  • Scroll down and check to see if your printer is shown in the list under Devices & Ports.
  • If no devices are shown, or the only entry is "Unrecognized device", then there is a USB connection issue.
    • Please note that AutoFarm3D is not compatible with printers running Klipper or Duet/RepRap firmware.

2.2 Check SD Card

If the SD card was previously used, it may contain residual data. Check that the SD card was formatted using SDCard.org and that you used the "Overwrite Format" option (NOT Quick Format).

2.3 USB Connection Issue: Check the USB cable connecting your printer to your Pi / Hub

  • Make sure it is plugged in on the Pi/Hub side, as well as the printer side.
  • Make sure it supports data transfer. Some cables are only for charging.
  • Make sure the cable isn't broken.
  • If in doubt, try a different USB cable. The cable that came with your printer should work.

2.4 Printer shows up on the Hub Configuration Center (IP:3030) but not on the main dashboard (IP:8080)

  • If your Hub is in Worker mode, then you will need to connect to your Command Hub's dashboard <Command Hub IP>:8080 to see the dashboard.
  • Try doing a hard refresh on your browser. Hold "ctrl" and click the refresh button on your browser.
  • Try rebooting your hub. Click on the Reboot button under the Quick Controls section of the Hub Configuration Center.
