Job Not Printing

1. Print job is stuck in the queue

1.1 Check SmartTags

Ensure that any SmartTags on your printer match the SmartTags on your print job.

1.2 Check Hub Version

Ensure ALL HUBS are on most up-to-date version of AF3D. How to check this.

1.3 Check File Export Requirements

Ensure file has been exported correctly from a supported slicer.

Bambu Studio Export

If you are using Bambu Studio, make sure that you have exported it as a "Plate Sliced File."

  • Your slicer is compatible with AutoFarm3D (See list below)
Compatible Slicers

For Bambu Printers (.gcode.3mf format):

  • Bambu Studio version 1.9.0.17 or newer (export as "Plate Sliced File").
  • OrcaSlicer version 2.0.0 or newer.

For Marlin Printers (.gcode format)

  • Cura
  • Simplify3D
  • PrusaSlicer
  • SuperSlicer (needs minor fix, see below)
  • OrcaSlicer
  • Bambu Studio

In order for AutoFarm3D to successfully read SuperSlicer gcode, please add the following line to the "Before Layer Change" custom gcode:

1.4 Check Printer USB Connection (non-Bambu Lab printers only)

Ensure your printer is connected properly to the Raspberry Pi / Print Farm Hub.

  1. Navigate to printer view.
  2. Open the gcode console.

If you see the message "No Response" then your printer has lost connection. Reboot your printer.

If that doesn't work, or there seems to be a stable connection to the printer:

  1. Open printer settings.
  2. Click "Restart Printer Software." After a minute or so, the job should be picked up by the printer.

1.5 Contact Support and Send Logs

If none of the above fixes worked, please create a support ticket so that our team can dig deeper. To do this, please follow this guide.

2. Printer goes to "Collect" after sending a job

2.1 Check Slicing Requirements

Ensure file has been exported correctly from a supported slicer. If you are using Bambu Studio, make sure that you have exported it as a "Plate Sliced File."

  • Your slicer is compatible with AutoFarm3D (See list below)

2.2 Check for Firmware Errors

Check the printer LCD for any firmware error messages. Some printers display details that are not reported to AutoFarm3D.

2.3 Check for Hardware/Power Issues

Check the printer for hardware or power issues. Ensure printer is plugged in to a stable outlet and there are no hardware errors diaplayed on printer LCD.

2.4 BAMBU LAB: Printer set to LAN-ONLY mode

It’s crucial to set your printer to LAN-ONLY mode and not just WLAN. You can confirm this by checking the settings menu, and navigating to the “LAN-only mode” page (for A1-series) and “WLAN” page (for P1/X1 series).

2.5 SD Card in Printer

Please note that while the P1S and P1P used to be shipped with the micro-SD cards inserted in the printer, but the new X1 series is not. Ensure you have manually inserted the micro-SD card in the printer slot before printing.
