Finding Your Hub IP Address
Prerequisites
- Download and install Angry IP Scanner from the official website
- Ensure your hub is connected to the network via Ethernet cable
- Hub should be powered on with the correct power supply
Instructions
1. Run Angry IP Scanner as Administrator
Windows:
- Right-click on the Angry IP Scanner icon or executable
- Select "Run as administrator" from the context menu
- Click "Yes" when Windows asks for permission (UAC prompt)
2. Configure the Scanner
- Open Angry IP Scanner (now running as administrator)
- The IP range should automatically detect your network range (e.g.,
192.168.1.1
to 192.168.1.254
) - If not, manually set the range to match your network subnet
3. Enable MAC Address Vendor Detection
- In Angry IP Scanner, go to Tools menu
- Select Fetchers
- In the Fetchers window, check the box for MAC Vendor
- Click OK to save the settings
4. Run the Network Scan
- Click the Start button to begin scanning
- Wait for the scan to complete (may take 1-2 minutes)
- Look through the results for devices that respond
5. Identify the Hub
- Look in the MAC Vendor column for entries showing "Raspberry Pi"
- The hub will appear as a Raspberry Pi device
- Note the IP address in the same row (e.g., 192.168.1.108)
- Verify the device is alive/responding (green indicator or "Alive" status)
6. Access the Hub
- Copy the IP address of the Raspberry Pi device
- Open a web browser
- Enter the IP address with port: http://[IP_ADDRESS]:8080 (E.g., http://192.168.1.108:8080)
- This should open the hub's local web interface
Troubleshooting
If Hub Doesn't Appear
- Check that hub is properly connected via Ethernet (not WiFi)
- Verify hub power supply is connected and LED indicators are on
- Try expanding IP range (e.g., 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.2.254)
- Check if your router has separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks
- Ensure computer and hub are on same network subnet
- If you are on a corporate network, check whether IP scanning is blocked
Network Subnet Issues
- If using mesh networks, devices may be on different subnets
- Check check your printers’ IP addresses on the LCD screen. Compare with your computer’s IP address on AngryIP. If they are different, try scanning the printer IP address range.
